I have worked in the mental health field for more than 30 years and have maintained a private practice since 2011. My passion for supporting first responders began when my husband became a firefighter and EMT. Through his experiences, I gained a firsthand understanding of the unique challenges faced by first responders and recognized the critical need for mental health professionals who are specifically trained to serve this population. This realization led me to become a Certified First Responder Counselor, allowing me to provide specialized support tailored to the distinct stressors, trauma exposures, and occupational demands that first responders experience. In addition to working with first responders, I also provide counseling for first responder spouses and partners, who often face their own unique challenges and stressors while supporting a loved one in a demanding public service role.
