Whether you are a psychologist, masters-level clinician, or fire service leader–regardless of rank–we welcome you to FSPA.
Firefighters operate within a distinct culture and are routinely exposed to cumulative psychological trauma over the course of their careers. Yet few psychologists and master’s‑level clinicians fully understand the unique demands of fire service work, and only a limited number of fire departments integrate professional psychology as a core resource for their members.
The Fire Service Psychology Association was founded to bridge this gap. We empower mental health providers through cultural competence, demonstrate the value of professional psychology within the fire service, and build a strong psychological research foundation to support evidence‑based care.
Our vision is to establish the highest standards of psychological care for firefighters and their families.
