The core of our discipline, fire service psychology—where culture, tradition, progress, health, safety, and wellness intersect—demands a powerful evolution. As subject matter experts in human behavior and fire service leadership, we are uniquely positioned to reevaluate fundamental assumptions and spearhead national strategies that support the total human potential of firefighters. FSPA is calling on you to be a catalyst for this change.
Your Expertise Will Define the Standard
Join one of the interdisciplinary Task Groups (made up of both fire service and psychology professionals) to work on the research, information gathering from stakeholders, analysis, and writing to create groundbreaking FSPA Guidelines that will help set new national benchmarks for:
- Guidelines on Firefighter Behavioral Health Programs
- Guidelines on Psychological Evaluations for Firefighters (e.g., pre-employment, fitness for duty, disability assessment).
- Guidelines on Fireground Human Factors Analysis for Firefighter Deaths and Injuries
