2025 Conference Sponsorship
Thank you for visiting our Conference Sponsorship Page! We appreciate that you likely receive many requests to become a conference sponsor, so here’s why you should become a corporate sponsor for FSPA’s 8th Annual Conference in Pearland, Texas, October 9-10, 2025.
OUR STORY
Dr. Kristen Wheldon, Psy.D, created FSPA in 2017 when she recognized there was little representation from the professional psychology community within the fire service, career and volunteer alike, in the U.S.
Today, the FSPA conference is still the only conference whose sole focus is the mental health and well-being of firefighters and EMS personnel (DYK, over 70% of fire departments in the U.S. also deliver emergency medical services to their community using cross-trained firefighters? Or that an ambulance staffed with cross-trained firefighters responds to 3-4 times the number of calls for service as a fire truck?).
Without effective psychology prevention and intervention programs, firefighters are susceptible to being affected by the psychological occupational hazards of the profession, including post-traumatic stress, suicides, and poor interpersonal dynamics affecting women and people of color within the predominately white male workforce.
FSPA’s slogan, “Building a bridge between professional psychology and the fire service” means developing more mental health clinicians who understand what firefighters do, why they do, how they do it, and under what conditions they do their work and the unique stresses they encounter.
It also means informing and educating firefighters–and importantly, fire chiefs–so that they understand there is more that psychology can provide in addition to intervention services:
- Psychological Assessments for pre-employment, fitness for duty, and disability claims.
- Industrial/Organizational Psychology to help fire departments in creating psychological safety in their organizations.
- Operational Psychology that–like sports psychology does for athletes–can help firefighters make better decisions when under pressure.
All sponsors receive recognition on various social media platforms including Facebook, lnstagram, and Linkedln distributed to over 10,000 mental health and fire service professionals. Sponsors are listed on the center place cards on each table at the luncheon and on a slideshow during the luncheon. Also, a written acknowledgment will be posted on the Fire Service Psychology Association website’s home page with a phone number and link to your website, posted one week from receipt of payment through October 28, 2025.

What’s the Fire Ops Academy?
It’s an eight-hour session where psychologists and masters-level clinicians gain hands-on experience for what a firefighter experiences in their job. It’s a great opportunity for those mental health professionals to take a big step towards becoming a culturally competent clinician, a clinician who knows what firefighters do, why they do it, how they do it, and the conditions under which they do it.
