I joined FSPA because I wanted to be a part of an organization that works directly with First Responders/Fire Fighters who have a unique perspective on life and would need specialized support. I hope to learn more about the Fire Culture, develop a better understanding on how to connect and communicate with compassion and cultural competence. I am now a part of a non-profit group in San Francisco that caters to the wellness of the Fire Fighters, EMTs and retirees, the San Francisco Firefighter and EMT Behavioral Health foundation (SFFEBHF) and I believe the training/resources and connection with the Fire Psychology community will be paramount for our learning and growth to support each other.
